<title>New Music: World to Conquer</title>
<link>http://www.bbirney.com/Article99.html</link>
<description>Like most &quot;new music&quot; I post here, this is actually some older work that I'm turning loose on the web. (All of my composition since 2005 has been for Paradise Lost.)

World to Conquer is a turn based fantasy strategy game played on hex grid. The game was developed by Northern Bytes Software for the 2003 uDevGames. I scored the game, and you can download the music files here.

Game music is my second (artistic) love after musical theatre, and these are without a doubt my favorite compositions outside of Paradise Lost.</description>

<title>My first open source release</title>
<link>http://www.bbirney.com/Article98.html</link>
<description>Well, I've been in the freelance web programming world full time for about a year now. It's been fun so far, though a heck of a lot of work. Oh well.

I'm pleased to announce my first open source PostNuke module release - SurveyManager.

<title>Revenge of the Idiots: &quot;I don't need to know XHTML&quot;</title>
<link>http://www.bbirney.com/Article94.html</link>
<description>Some web programmers apparently think they don't need to know XHTML. These people are (and you will hear this word frequently in the following post) NITWITS. That's not an acronym, it's a pejorative.

<title>Never host with 1and1.com</title>
<link>http://www.bbirney.com/Article93.html</link>
<description>There are lots of bad web hosts out there - godaddy.com, any registrar - not to mention the legend that is featureprice.com. (I had a half dozen clients with them when they imploded.) But I have a new addition to the list of people to whom you should never give your business - 1and1.com. Here follows my first-ever complaint letter - I have been moved to unusual eloquence by their incompetence.
