Alusair Obarskyr
Alusair, commonly referred to as the "Steel Princess" of Cormyr, is a tall, strong, imposing woman in her early 30s. She has a regal beauty, but few men dare approach her on any but the most respectful terms. A former adventurer who gave up the wandering life to act as Princess Regent of Cormyr when her father died, Alusair frequently chafes at the duties and niceties of rule. In this she is aided by her longtime friend Caladnei, head of the War Wizards.

After the Battle of Forest Falls, Alusair led her army through Shadowdale and into the Moonsea region. She is currently laying siege to Voonlar.

Bedrake Hailan
Bedrake Hailan is a priestess of Mystra, the goddess of magic. She joined three other priests of the Quatrumverate Gods in a journey to Hillcrown in Ches 1374 to set up a joint temple to the Quatrumverate.

Bedrake is in her early fifties, the only one of the four Hillcrown disciples to have passed middle age. She is quiet and solemn, but unswervingly devoted in her service to the betterment of those around her through the magical arts. She usually dresses in simple white or grey robes and is rarely armed with anything more imposing than a simple staff.

Burg Grelmos
One of four young adventurers living in Hillcrown to receive the blessing of Eldath for his service in rescuing abducted townsfolk peacefully. Burg is a hardy dwarvish priest of Mordain who travelled with his companions from Archendale.

Caladnei
Caladnei is the Royal Magician and a close personal friend of Princess Alusair. As the Royal Magician, she is also the head of the War Wizards.

Calithra Illistyn
Calithra Illistyn is an honored drow priestess of Eilistraee, a little-known but increasingly important goddess in the drow pantheon. After helping Solaufein Ro'Daren to sieze control of the drow forces in Myth Drannor during the winter of 1374, she journeyed with three other priests of the Qutrumverate to Hillcrown.

Calithra is tall for a drow, standing about 5'4". She is lithe and graceful, and preserves the female drow tradition of 'dressing down' whenever the environment allows for it. She seems to enjoy the attention this draws, but usually remains elusively flirtatious. Despite her demeanor and appearance, she is also a diligent and potent priestess, serving her goddess, the Quatrumverate and the people of Hillcrown with apparently unending energy and enthusiasm. Her unswervingly cheerful nature has begun to win over a few friends among the human and dwarven inhabiatants of the town, but most of the elves remain coldly aloof.

Crail Redhart
Crail is a powerful disciple of Lathander. He arrived in Hillcrown with three other priests of the Quatrumverate Gods early in Ches of 1374 to set up a joint temple to the Quatrumverate.

Crail stands 6'8" and comes across as a bluff, serious adventurer. He almost always wears his massive steel armor. However, he has a softer side as well, and frequently sings for children in a pure, haunting tenor.

Eddar (PC)
Eddar is a pragmatic and orderly druid originally from the Methwood. He has learned slowly about the ways of civilized people, but exhibits remarkable wisdom when it comes to applying the rules of the natural order to their civilization.

He currently rides a wardog named "Fluffy" who he has laboriously trained from a bouncy, lovable sheepdog into an equally bouncy and lovable but also somewhat disciplined and intelligent animal companion.

Elamer Tinduh
Elamer is a wizard of modest rank in the Army of the Returned Elves of Evermeet. He's a friendly, flightly fellow who enjoys tea and talks quickly. He contacted the party to solicit their help in ending the siege of Myth Drannor.

Eriss Bramblefoot
One of four young adventurers living in Hillcrown to receive the blessing of Eldath for her service in rescuing abducted townsfolk peacefully. Eriss is a young, sturdy gnomish fighter who travelled with her companions from Archendale.

Gailen Crum
Gailen Crum is a devoted disciple of Tymora, Lady Luck. He joined three other priests of the Quatrumverate Gods in journeying to Hillcrown to establish a joint temple, arriving in early Ches of 1374.

Gailen has long, exuberant brown hair and a perpetually smiling face. He is free with stories, songs and aid to those who need it. He loves gambling, and isn't afraid to associate with unlawful folk - but he clearly is devoted to the betterment of the people around him. Anyone that knows him well has been the subject of a practical joke at least once.

Gakorgan, Stonechief
Stonechief Gakorgan's Cormyrian dwarvish irregulars provided a decisive defense during the Battle of Forest Falls. Dismounted elite Zhent cavalry, disguised as archers, had caught the Cormyrian tacticians by surprise, making a strong advance directly toward their HQ with only two battalions of archers to block them. Gakorgan's dwarves charged to the rescue from positions deep in reserve, forming a solid defensive formation and, with aid from the party, holding the Zhent advance for a time...

Gregor van Uelan (Sir)
Sir Gregor van Uelan is a young, enthusiastic paladin of Tyr with short blond hair, blue eyes and a huge chin. He led his adventuring companions to Hillcrown to study under the renowned Barons of Dun Khorn, and has since executed several succesful quests. His enthusiasm is lauded by some and seen by others as over-zealousness.

Grimble Ironfoot
Grimble Ironfoot is a the chief engineer among the dwarves living at Dun Khorn. Originally hailing from the Thunder Peaks between the Dales and Cormyr, Grimble travelled to Dun Khorn with many others from his clan when he heard of the rediscovery of an ancient temple to Moradin there. He has since laid out plans for a massive keep to be constructed above Dun Khorn and for a mythril mine in the Dagger Mountains.

Like most dwarves, Grimble is stocky, solid and heftily bearded. He loves his ale and gruel as much as the next fellow, but his chosen discipline requires that he spend much of his time in solitary study, giving him a reputation for bookishness.

Hendrikallum "Rik" Maldravis (PC)
Physical Appearance:
Rik looks young, even for seventeen. His hair is short and brown, and his jaw is lined with a light, scruffy beard. His eyes are blue. Rik is about 5'10" tall, and prefers to dress in drab colored, baggy peasant's clothing to avoid attracting attention.

Personality:
Rik is a fairly typical teen, brash and full of himself. He enjoys learning and experiencing new things, and thus seeks out people who can teach him interesting skills. Rik likes to talk, and tends to exaggerate the details of his exploits. In a fight, Rik can be counted on to take care of himself.

Hyelman (Cohort)
Hyelman is Maril's loyal retainer. He's in his mid-forties, and looks grizzled enough to be fifty. His official relationship to Lady Moringlory notwithstanding, Hyelman has a sharp tongue and a sardonic manner. However, he sticks by her in a fight no matter what, and makes sure she always has clean underwear.

James Morgan (Cohort)
James Morgan is a most unusual ogre. It's not that he's big or strong - it's that he's also highly educated, speaking flawless Chondathan with a posh Calimshite accent. He claims to have been raised by adventurers in Calimshan. The party discovered him in the ruins of the Guild of the Night in Myth Drannor; he claimed he was captured by the drow while "on vacation" in Cormanthor. In exchange for his release, he promised to help the party fight the drow. He later joined the party as Eddar's cohort after it was discovered that in his spare time he aspired to be a champion of Sylvanus.

When asked why precisely he had chosen Sylvanus as his patron, James replied: "Well, my surrogate parents explained all the gods to me, and I considered carefully what each had to offer... and Sylvanus had nymphs."

James now accompanies Eddar as his loyal cohort, learning about the balance of nature and how to apply it in his everyday life. He was briefly incinerated by a red dragon on 27 Ches, but he got better.

Kelec (PC)
Kelec stands six feet, well muscled, tanned and bald; obviously battle hardened even at twenty. Though he grew up in a large Damaran town, his home is wherever his armor is. In Damara, he served in his home militia during the last of the savage raids against its centers of civilization. This experience drew the eye of the Church of Tempus, which was responsible in large part for the gradual victory of civlization over the monsters and raiders of the Damaran wilds. At seventeen he was indoctrinated and trained as a war cleric of Tempus. As hostilities in Damara died down, many clerics were sent abroad to add their records of battle to their brother temples. Kelec ended up at the one in Shadowdale, conveniently right between two massive armies.

Kelec greets battle cheerfully, though not recklessly. Each new scar on his body or notch on his axe are equally a devotion to Tempus, and the longer he stays alive, the more of each he can rack up. Even if Tempus expresses no preference, Kelec stands against the forces of evil at any opportunity: the challenge is greater, the allies more valorous, and the supply of foes basically limitless.

Kenna Kell
Kenna Kell is a young, attractive woman who approached the party to help her find her husband's missing adventuring party. She seemed genuinely honest and concerned - but when the party approached the location where her husband Dannin's party was last heard from, they were attacked by an adventuring party that may or may not have been his.

Lailoken (PC)
Lailoken is a 6' 8" muscular, and generally enormous man. He has the bronzed features of a man who has spent a great many years in the sun and in manual labor, which would also account for the drab and plain peasants garb he's normally found in. He has deep-set dark eyes, and long brown hair which is almost always tied back. He is often seen out of armor, but he'd never likely be seen without the heirloom mercurial greatsword of his family either tied to his back or in his hands.

He is fairly quiet and if you happen to catch him unaware you can sometimes even see a moment of great sadness in him, but it's cause is not something he ever speaks of. Other than that he is a happy and cheerful man, content with making others around him happy as well when not in battle. Those close to him, however, would warn he also has a fierce protective streak, and will not stand for anyone harming those he cares for.

Lewellyn Illyseran
One of four young adventurers living in Hillcrown to receive the blessing of Eldath for his service in rescuing abducted townsfolk peacefully. Lewellyn is a youthful moon elf (at 90 years of age) originally from Evereska. He travelled to the Dales to see the great forest of Cormanthor, and then made friends with young adventurers from Archendale, travelling with them to Hillcrown. He's still young and brash, and sometimes doesn't show the proper appreciation for a life in the forest, but he gets the job done as a ranger.

Marcion
Marcion is a very young enigmatic priestess of Eldath. She appeared to young adventurers pursuing barbarians who had kidnapped townsfolk of Hillcrown and persuaded them to seek a peaceful solution to the conflict. She is obviously capable of wielding powerful magic, but appears to be only about twelve years old. She was last seen by Dalesfolk in the company of an astral deva.

Maril Morninglory (PC)
Maril comes from a family line of Purple Dragon Knights, and broke the family archetype when she accepted the calling to service to Lathander. She is compassionate and strong in her faith, and tries not to be overbearing. Despite enormous personal charisma, Maril is not as people-oriented as most paladins and prefers to avoid the spotlight. As she has progressed in her career, her parents have become more and more protective of her, and she now travels with her father’s best retainer, Hyelman, who is loyal and stubborn and somewhat coarse, which Maril appears to find refreshing.

Maril radiates loveliness, and tends to be exuberant and headstrong just like her deity. She has sparkling gray eyes, sunny blonde hair to match her disposition, and a smile for anyone.

Mourngrym Amcathra
Mourngrym Amcathra is the elected lord of Shadowdale. A former adventurer himself, he frequently looks to Shadowdale's adventurers to help solve problems. Now that Shadowdale has been overrun by the armies of the Zhentarim, he is holed up in Castle Krag, directing the resistance fighters.

Rewald Glenis
One of four young adventurers living in Hillcrown to receive the blessing of Eldath for his service in rescuing abducted townsfolk peacefully. Rewald is a young, playfully acidic flautist originally from Sembia who travelled with his companions from Archendale to Hillcrown.

Rufus Carlisle
Rufus Carlisle is a 30-year old war priest of Tymora from the Moonshae Isles. (Yes, he has a thick brogue.) He arrived about a month after Kelec's call for companions, claiming he'd received a vision from Lady Luck herself instructing him to travel to Shadowdale and seek out an ally from Tempus. (Needless to say, he flipped a coin first just to be sure.) Kelec's divinations reveal that Rufus is Tempus's chosen companion for him.

Though he is somewhat older than Kelec, Rufus treats him with a great deal of respect. He obviously considers his service to him as a divine mission, and wouldn't hesitate to put himself in harm's way if called on to do so. He does maintain a certain air of playfulness, however, and Kelec always catches a hint of a smirk behind his "Yes sir" and "No sir". While Rufus pays respects dutifully to Tempus, his true devotion remains with the Smiling Lady. Of particular concern to him are rumors that among the adventurers slain and soul-bound in Chessenta earlier in the year - by Banite devils - were two candidates for Chosen status in Tymora's church.

Rufus stands a mighty 6'10" and weighs at least 300 lbs - all of it muscle. He's a devout man; he enjoys card and dice games, and frequently carouses with dwarves in Hillcrown. On several occasions you've observed pretty young lasses from some of the nearby farming communities slipping out of Dun Khorn in the early morning hours - and sometimes several at a time. Obviously he takes his faith seriously.

Simon Halas
Simon Halas is a tall, lanky human with short, dark hair and a fair complexion. He dresses well, but doesn't draw attention to himself. He's a smooth talker, but he also seems to know when to shut up and let events take their course.

As of 26 Ches 1374, only Rik knows Simon. This is because Simon asked Rik's permission to re-establish the thieves' guild of Shadowdale in Hillcrown. Rik said "yes", and Simon is lurking about town, gathering information and preparing to quietly establish a inn and tavern to serve as his base of operations.

In early Tarsakh, another group of adventurers from Hillcrown found that Simon had camped out with his thieves in the forests southwest of Hillcrown. He originally threatened to have them 'shipped' south to Sembia, but later relented and let them go in exchange for a vow of silence. Simon may have a few too many scruples for the life of a thief, or he may just be pragmatically squeamish.

Tinnin Obarskyr
An outgoing, friendly and highly intelligent young mage living in Shadowdale proper. He agreed to help the party identify the strange tentacle they claimed from the "tentacle-wolf" on 28 Kithorn 1373. Apparently has access to Elminster's library, though his connection with the Sage is unclear. He joined the adventuring party on 8 Flamerule, 1373, just before Shadowdale fell to the Zhent invasion.

Tinnin is apparently a distant cousin of the "Steel Princess", Alusair Obarskyr of Cormyr. Their relationship appears friendly, if somewhat adversarial.

Tobias Gylld
Tobias is a friendly, outgoing - if somewhat homely - priest of Lathander in Shadowdale. He is friends with Kelec, and sent Kelec and company on their first mission. He has promised to contact them again if any more quests should become available.

Volsick the Small
Volsick the Small was the assistant to an anonymous stone giant sculptor who lived in the Dagger Mountains around the time of the Weeping War in Cormanthor. Volsick was a devoted assistant, and when her master died, she tended to his home until her own death several years later.

Wallace Alhonyn
Wallace is a young, hardy ranger from a small hamlet near Shadowdale. He doesn't say much, but he knows his business and stands up well in a fight. He joined the party at Kelec's invitation when they were escorting pilgrims to Forest Falls. He departed the group during the Zhent invasion to try to escort his parents and sister to safety in the southern Dales.

Whisper Grimblade
Appearance:
Grim stands 6’1” and is enormously well muscled. She has buzz-cut brown hair and green eyes, and a faintly masculine quality to her features. Despite her imposing size, she moves very gracefully and lightly on her feet. She has a hardened look about her, though often has an expression of timidity when speaking. When not in armor, Grim wears simple peasant’s garb of poor quality.

Personality:
Though obviously a tank, Grim tends to be wary of strangers, and has a habit of leaping to appease people when they make demands of her. She is shy, and reserved about her past, and can often be seen peering at folk around her suspiciously, as if she suspects that they are not the ordinary people they seem to be. Her trusty two-bladed sword is never far from her hands, and she grips it tightly when meeting new people. In battle with a bit of backup, she is a fearless warrior, and a somewhat uncharacteristic aggression is revealed. She really likes to hit things.

Grim was slain on 1 Alturiak, 1374, by Shevarashan sun elves in Myth Drannor. She declined to be True Resurrected, choosing instead to be a petitioner in the service of Kelemvor.

Wigglewaddle, Capt.
Captain Wigglewaddle of the Cormyrian Halfling Cavalry is a short, tough halfling with a jovial demeanor and steely resolve. His was the first Cormyrian unit to arrive in Forest Falls in Flamerule 1373, and his unit proved decisive during several major clashes in the battle.

Yenna Gavara
Yenna Gavara is a young, unreasonably beautiful Damaran acting as emissary from the Seeker of Portals. Despite their serious misgivings, she convinced the adventurers to allow her to study the portal chamber on the second deep of Dun Khorn for a period of five years. In contrast to the lich Mordok, the Seeker's previous 'ambassador' to Dun Khorn, she is charming, witty, extremely diplomatic - and also not undead. The party - wisely -remains suspicious of her, but so far she has been on excellent behavior.
