Find Heaven

Find Heaven <----- NEW MUSIC HERE

Actually, it's part postlude, part prelude - perhaps to a new show. Or perhaps to something else. A concept album? I don't know yet. But it's a beginning.

Vocal performance by the lovely and talented Danielle Erin Rhodes. Thank you so much, Dani.

---------

For right or wrong, she calls me forward
Demands my love (commands my love), the boatman's fare.
I sing her song, though heavens crumble
And pay the cost (and damn the cost); find heaven there.

She calls me to the icy river
She tells me: put your finger in
The water's cold like lonely summers
The water's warm like August sin

The river takes the ghosts and demons
Mem'ry drowns in black and green
It washes off the blood of birth
And leaves my tired spirit clean

For right or wrong, she calls me forward
Demands my love (commands my love), the boatman's fare.
I sing her song, though heavens crumble
And pay the cost (and damn the cost); find heaven there.

She gives two pennies for the ferry
Two kisses, white and red
Lays them on my eyes and whispers:
We will love when you are dead

I lay me down in Charron's hands
And let the river take me there
Leave behind the life that's coming
Pray the boat my soul to bear

Touch my arm (break me from the cycle)
Take my hand (snuff the candle out)
Hold my arm (lay me in the water)
Kiss me (lay me six feet down)

Wake my soul, lift me up
Make my broken body live
Take your price in blood and pain;
The only price I have to give

Jealousy and fear are dead
Forgetfulness the tune she played
The river left me far behind
The boatman keeps the fare she paid

The ghosts are me, the ghosts are dead
The demons weep alone in black
Our legs and arms are one together
Her wings are Gray around my back

REPEAT CHORUS (x2)

For right and wrong, she calls me downward
Demands my love (redeems my love), sweet Charron's fare.
I sing her song, and heavens crumble
The river crossed (from all I loved and built and burned and lost...)
Find heaven there.
Find heaven there.
Find heaven there.
